For centuries, the Diefdijk was the lock on the back door of Holland. Excess water and enemy armies had to be held back here. Traces of this can be seen everywhere along the house-high dike. The decor of this walk also consists of old orchards, farmyards, meadows and osier trees. You will also pass the Schoonrewoerdse Wiel twice, a deep pool that was left behind after a dike breach.
