B&B De Kalverschuur

On Kalverweg in the rural village of Schoonrewoerd, you’ll find De Kalverschuur: a charming accommodation with a rich history. The village itself was founded in 1023 and lies in a region full of character – from the centuries-old Diefdijk to the Wiel van Bassa, also known as Schoonrewoerdse Wiel, formed during a dike breach in 1573. Cycle or walk through orchards, past historic farms, and along winding dike roads.

The name Kalverschuur (“Calf Barn”) is a nod to the past. This site was once home to a large farm with vast meadows and barns full of livestock – most likely including calves. The current house, built in 1933, still reflects that heritage. Here, you don’t just enjoy a comfortable stay – you sleep in the heart of living village history.
